Circuit training was originally made up of a series of 4 to 12 exercises. The number of exercises can vary depending on your fitness level and goals. The idea is simple: repeat the exercises one after the other with very short rest times, ranging from 10 to 30 seconds.

Here’s an example of a circuit training workout for beginners. Get on your knees with your torso facing the floor and do as many push-ups as you can for 30 seconds. Rest for 30 seconds. Then get into a crunch position and do as many as you can for another 30 seconds. Rest for the same duration of time. After that, do as many jumping jacks as you can for 30 seconds. Take another break, then do as many mountain climbers as you can for 30 seconds. Rest for another 30 seconds. You can do this initial workout two to three times, then with more practice, you can add more exercises and repeat the series up to five times.
