Kevin: Push Your Limits to Overcome Disability with FizzUp
Have you ever said to yourself that you can’t make a change? What if that was just an excuse not to take action and transform your body for good? Kevin was brave enough to push his limits to overcome disability with FizzUp. Pain never got the best of him. Today, he can show off a body transformation that he’s proud of. This is his story.
OVERCOME DISABILITY WITH FIZZUP
Hey, I’m Kevin! I’m 25 years old. I haven’t been physically active at all for the last seven years. Back when I was in high school, I did sports, was a volunteer firefighter and had a part-time job, meaning that I didn’t know what sleep was OR how to do exercise. At the time, I thought I was invincible, which was so far from reality. That caught up with me, and fast. One time I woke up the middle of the night in a lot of pain, so I went to the doctor. That’s when I was diagnosed with triceps tendonitis in my left arm. In other words, I have some tissue a few centimeters wide that’s pressing on my tendon in my left elbow joint. From that moment on, I was told not to do any sports for seven years. But that was before I found FizzUp.
I was getting tired of everyone critiquing my body, and only a few months ago, you could describe it in one word: skinny. So I decided I needed to make a change. The only thing standing in my way was my disability and the pain it caused every day, the fact that I couldn’t bend my elbow all the way and that my doctor strongly discouraged me from doing any muscle building. I didn’t think I could do it. So the first thing I did was look for a bodyweight workout program online. And that’s when I found my loyal FizzUp trainer. I signed up for FizzUp PRO and started working out using my body weight, despite my doctor’s advice.
PAIN DOESN’T HOLD ME BACK ANYMORE
When I first started with FizzUp PRO, I was on an emotional roller coaster. I definitely was in pain during my workouts, but I can’t tell you how happy I was to feel things during my workout that I hadn’t felt in years. Then, with the fitness evaluation at the beginning and end of every level, anyone can make progress safely and at their own pace, even someone like me, who can’t even carry a pack of water without being in pain. Having the trainer there with me was really comforting. I needed someone to guide me and tell me when and how I should work out.
I quickly started to see my body change and my athletic performance skyrocket. So I started doing the Focus programs after my workouts to get faster results. These are mini-workouts that target any area of your body that you want and were exactly what I needed to transform my physique. When I didn’t have enough energy to do one, I would just activate my Stretching Add-on for a calmer end to my workout.
After working out for five months, I feel fantastic, even with my disability. I’ve learned to accept the pain. Now I consider it a strength in its own right. I was able to gain almost 9 lb (4 kg) in muscle mass with only 10% body fat. My advice? Food and sleep should be your secret weapons. And for those of you who aren’t fitness experts, you can rely on the FizzUp Nutrition Guide to help you make better progress by eating a healthier diet.
Now that I’m constantly improving my FizzUp PRO program, I’ve switched to the “Build Muscle with Equipment” goal. And once again, I feel like I’m getting the guidance I need. I’m working out with weights. I never thought I would get to experience this again in my life. I absolutely love the workouts with this goal because of the way they make me feel. I’m convinced that it will help me safely gain muscle mass even faster than with my body weight.
FizzUp PRO is helping me reach my goals to gain 22 lb (10 kg) in muscle mass in 1 year and to start doing calisthenics, an activity I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve also always wanted to have a job in the fitness field and share my passion with others. Pain is only temporary; giving up is forever. If there’s one thing you should remember about FizzUp, it’s that it doesn’t matter who you are or whether you’re short, thin, overweight, handicapped or anything else… you’re the one who decides what keeps you from reaching your goals. That’s the attitude I’m trying to pass on every day through my experience with FizzUp on my Instagram profile, @kdt_transformation. Follow me and let’s share new adventures with FizzUp!
